ATLANTA — On a crisp September evening, The Eastern pulsed with urgency, emotion, and music as DEAR EVERYTHING: A Musical Uprising for the Earth made its Atlanta debut. Presented by V-Day in association with the American Repertory Theater, the one-night-only performance transformed the venue into a sanctuary of resistance, reflection, and hope.

Created by Tony Award-winners V (formerly Eve Ensler) and Diane Paulus, with music by Grammy-nominated songwriter Justin Tranter, the production fused galvanizing pop and folk melodies with a deeply resonant narrative. Eleven powerhouse performers, backed by the soaring harmonies of the Youth Choir, delivered a visceral experience that tackled the climate crisis head-on—with empathy, complexity, and unapologetic outrage.

The show’s dialectic was clear: adults grappling with survival in the present, and youth demanding accountability for the future. From haunting solos to thunderous ensemble pieces, each moment was a call to action. V herself took the stage as narrator, weaving poetic urgency through the musical tapestry and reminding the audience that the Earth is not a passive backdrop—but a living entity crying out for justice.

Audience members, ranging from longtime environmental activists to curious newcomers, were visibly moved. “It wasn’t just a show—it was a reckoning,” said one attendee. “I left feeling shaken, inspired, and ready to do something.”

The Eastern, known for hosting genre-defying performances, proved the perfect venue for a production that defies categorization. DEAR EVERYTHING is not just musical theater—it’s a movement. And last night, Atlanta was its epicenter.

As the tour continues to Miami, Los Angeles, and Salt Lake City, one thing is clear: this uprising is just beginning.
