ATLANTA, GA — This fall, the South gets a new anthem—and it’s set to a beat you can skate to. G.R.I.T.S. (Girls Raised in the South), a bold new scripted series, premieres October 30 on ALLBLK, bringing grit, grace, and roller-skating realness to the screen.

Set in Memphis, the series follows Keisha (Jasmine Sargent), Ty (Ashanti Harris), and Francis (Aja “Slimeroni” Canyon)—three young women coming of age in a city that’s as soulful as it is unforgiving. Bound by friendship and fueled by ambition, the trio finds their escape in the rhythmic sanctuary of the roller rink. But when grief, hustle, and the city’s darker corners threaten to pull them under, a high-stakes skating competition with life-changing prize money becomes their shot at something more.

In a world where survival is a full-time job and sisterhood is sacred, G.R.I.T.S. is a love letter to resilience. It’s about lacing up, showing up, and skating through the pain—because sometimes, the only way forward is to move.

Created and executive produced by Deji LaRay, the series boasts a powerhouse production team including Thomas Q. Jones and Martha Sanchez, with Brett Dismuke (Head of Content), Nikki Love (SVP, Development & Original Production, Scripted), and Ashley McFarlin (VP, Development & Original Production, Scripted) steering the vision for ALLBLK.

With its electric soundtrack, raw storytelling, and unapologetic Southern soul, G.R.I.T.S. is poised to become a cultural touchstone for a new generation of viewers.

The premiere drops October 30. Don’t miss your chance to roll with the South’s fiercest trio.
